Camping on Brush Creek Road

Not much to report today – it’s been rainy in Crested Butte so this week has been a much needed catch-up on work and rest. Of course, Will is dying to get out and bike, but I’m pretty happy just hanging around.

Poor bear, stuck inside because of all the rain.

Well isn’t this just the saddest face you’ve ever seen?

Yesterday we worked in town before heading out to find a new campsite. The past few nights we had been staying on Slate Creek Road, but we were ready for a change of scenery. There was a parking area near the Teocalli Ridge Trailhead that looked promising, so out Brush Creek road we went. I don’t even need to describe what we found – the pictures speak for themselves.

We enjoyed our evening from our camp chairs, watching the sun go down over the distant peaks as Hilde bopped around the field. This is what it’s all about!

  • Beautiful spot, this is the reason why I want to live this way. Finding beautiful spots to just park my home at and enjoy until I’ve had enough and move onto the next one! I always enjoy reading these posts!

    • Thanks, Zack! Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana have been great for dispersed camping so far. I think it gets harder as you get closer to civilization. Thank goodness for the National Forests!

Beautiful photos! Love that first photo of HIlde in the bus and the last photos of HIlde in the fields! Living the dream! Sometimes we are cooped up and sometimes we are wild and free! Truly beautiful! 🙂
