Telluride, Colorado

We’ve been lucky to be able to visit Telluride twice, in the summer and the winter. It’s a tight squeeze down in the box canyon, but the people are wonderful and we found it to be super bus friendly! One drawback is the dog – most of the restaurants don’t have dog friendly patios, which is a bummer.

  • Idarado Mine Parking Lot
We had success parking in this big pullout just past the Idarado Mine buildings. I think this is technically a “no camping” zone, so you’ll definitely want to avoid this spot if you aren’t fully contained.
  • Telluride Town Park
From what we could see, Telluride Town Park has some limited camping available! We couldn’t fit due to size restrictions, but if you’re traveling in a smaller vehicle it would be a great option.

  • The Butcher & The Baker
We ate at the Butcher and the Baker three times – once for breakfast, and twice for dinner. Breakfast was incredible, but dinner was disappointing. We thought the first was just a fluke, but the second confirmed it.

  • Smuggler’s Brew Pup
This place, what a surprise! We ate here twice, once for happy hour and once for dinner. They have some great veggie / pescatarian options and a really nice atmosphere. Make a reservation if town is busy… they fill up fast!

  • Floradora Saloon
To die for! Creative entrees and cocktails, great quality ingredients. Not to be missed! Not dog friendly.

  • Via Ferrata
Via Ferrata means “Iron Road” in Italian. This hike is a highly technical route that snakes along the cliff band, requiring climbing gear for safety. Check out our post and visit The Jagged Edge for more info!
